We appreciate your interest in our e-learning tool. Protecting your privacy is important to us. We would like to inform you how we collect personal data, what types of information we collect, and explain to you how that information is used.

Why we collect and use your data

The learning tool operates based on an open source Learning Management System (LMS), which requires some basic data to allow users tracking of individual learning progress and re-entry into the system at the point they left it in their last session. User data is also required for registration management and to ensure that users of the e-learning tool are Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

In addition, the LMS will collect raw tracking data such as number of concurrent users, time spent in individual chapters and % of correct answers. If you agree, we will send updates about further Versions of the tool to the e-Mail address you provided during registration. Furthermore, refer to the cookie statement for more information about the use of cookies.

Which data do we collect?

Once you register in our learning tool, we collect the following data:

  • First name, last name / nickname
  • Email address
  • Profession
  • Country of residency
  • Date and time of registration & last login

Without providing the data upon registration you will not be able to register.

As with most learning tools, we routinely collect the following internet protocol data during your visit to our learning tool:

  • the date and time of your visit
  • number of correct and incorrect answers to learning questions
  • time spent using the tool

We do this in order to be able to present the learning tool optimized to the device you are using and with all its functions or to store your preferences for your current or future learning sessions. Where you do not provide consent to the collection of internet protocol data, you will not be able to restart or reload your preferences. The responses to learning questions are tracked in order to provide motivational badges to users reaching a high level of correct answers.

In addition, the data will be extracted in raw format and analysed to optimise server resources, identify unclear messages and drop-off points, and improve navigation and user experience in future updates of the e-learning tool. We collect and use the information based upon your consent or because it is necessary for our legitimate interest.

Where is your data stored?

Personal details and login data are stored on a server provided by STRATO, a Germany-based, ISO and TÜV-certified server provider. The server uses SSL-Encryption. STRATO signed an agreement on data processing in accordance with Art. 28. Para. 3 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

No specific onward transfer of your data to third countries (countries outside the European Economic Area) is foreseen.

We will not disclose your personal data to any governmental authority, unless it is required by law. Our employees, agencies, and retailers are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your personal data and data privacy.

Who has access to the data?

Fresenius Kabi will extract raw data from the LMS for analysis in Microsoft Excel and the open source software R ( as detailed above. No third party analysis tool such as Google Analytics will be used or have access to the data.

When is the data deleted?

Personal details and login data will be stored until the user de-registers from the e-learning tool. Raw data and individualised data will be deleted quarterly after each planned analysis.

Your data rights

You can request information regarding the processing of your personal data at any time, including but not limited to the origin and recipients of your data and the purposes of the processing.

You may also request information regarding the access to your data, obtain a copy of your data, have your data corrected, withdraw your consent with effect to the future or demand the deletion of your personal data as long as it is not required for the storage purposes in accordance with other legal requirements, or make a complaint (to the extent required by law).

In the latter case, we will promptly confirm and investigate any complaint about the way we manage personal data.
